Sister Janet Awarded Bishop Cheverus Medal

On December 3, Boston Archbishop Seán P. O’Malley, OFM, presented Emmanuel College President Sister Janet Eisner, SND, with a Cheverus Award in recognition of her “service to the Church and God’s people.” Since 2008, the Archdiocese of Boston has annually honored laypeople who have advanced the Church’s mission and ministries over an extended period, and have done so in a “quiet, unassuming, and, perhaps, unrecognized way.” Read more at TheBostonPilot.com.

New Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design

Graduate and Professional Programs’ Education Department is pleased to announce a new, four-course, online graduate certificate in Instructional Design. Instructional Design is the process through which instructional materials are created and delivered. Two global trends have served as the basis for a sharp increase in the demand for trained professionals in this field: a wide expansion of online education and technologies and organizations’ growing need to train and develop employees, often in a geographically dispersed environment.

Offering the Instructional Design curriculum entirely online will enable the College to reach students outside its immediate geographical area and gain access to a larger pool of prospective students. The online delivery also models and demonstrates some of the tools and approaches taught in the courses. Read more about this innovative new program, click here.
