Emmanuel is committed to student success! In this spirit, we’re introducing several new enhancements—and bringing back some time-honored Emmanuel traditions—to assist students during the spring 2017 final exam period.
Academic Resource Center Study Groups
The ARC is offering over 50 peer-tutor facilitated study groups for final exams. The complete list of study groups is posted outside of the ARC (LIB G-04), on the portal and in the events calendar. Individual appointments with Academic Coaches are also available for time management and study strategy assistance.
Extended Library Hours and Emmanuel-Only Access
The Cardinal Cushing Library will remain open until 2:00 a.m. every day until the end of the final exam period, except Saturday, May 6, when the Library closes at 10:00 p.m. Based on student feedback, the extended hours went into effect earlier this semester than in the past. Beginning May 1 until the end of exams, to ensure ample study space for Emmanuel students, the library building is only open to the Emmanuel community and cross-registered students. The Library is also providing dedicated group study space throughout the finals period in G10 and the Computer Lab on the ground floor.
College Conference Rooms—Reserved for Students!
Until the end of final exams, students have priority use of most conference rooms located around campus. Sign up in advance for a 2-hour time block on the conference room door.
24/7 Study Spaces
The Jean Yawkey Center and the Emmanuel Basement in Saint Joseph Hall are available for around-the-clock study during exam week!
New Study/Group Work Space in Wilkens Science Center Atrium
Additional tables and chairs have been added to the 3rd floor atrium in the Wilkens Science Center. This is a great new spot on campus for studying or group work!
Meal Swipes During Final Exam Period
Students on a meal plan are able to use their dinner swipe until closing in the Atrium Cafe until the end of exam period.
